Balance and well-being are difficult to find in our everyday lives.  Finding our balance on a horse can can improve our over all well-being!

You may have ridden years ago, but go away from it when other priorities came your way, or maybe you've never ridden before but it's something you've always wanted to do!  Whatever the case, we've got a class for everyone.  We invite you to take a deep breath, leave your crazy life behind for a couple of hours and share some good times with horses and others that share the same passion as you!

Follow your heart....

Horsemanship 101

This class is for you if you've always wanted to take some riding lessons but had life get in the way- or you let the kids take the lessons! You may have done a short riding program in the past year here or at another facility and you can't wait to build on those horsemanship skills. We'll make sure that you become comfortable on a horse, learn more than you thought possible, meet some other horse enthusiasts and have a GREAT time!

We'll be working on:

  • Language of the horse

  • Body position and ground work

  • Grooming and tacking up

  • Proper posture and positioning in the saddle so you feel "balanced"

  • Use of your legs and body language as aids to communicate with your horse

  • Psychology of the horse- What is he thinking and how can you be proactive instead of reactive

  • Feeling comfortable in different gaits

  • Feel like you're taking the horse for a ride, NOT the horse taking YOU!

Session 1: Wednesday 6:45-8:30pm

May 12, 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16, 23
